SANFL star Bryce Gibbs has lost thousands of dollars this evening after backing the wrong horse and placing a bet that he would be selected in this week’s AFL team.
Gibbs, who came to the Crows in 2018, has endured a difficult year, with disappointing form both on the field and on the punt.
The Journal understands that Gibbs placed the bet after receiving positive feedback on his tagging role against Melbourne choir boy Clayton Oliver, but was unaware that Adelaide Crow gold pass holder Richard Douglas was available for selection.
“Not the best result that one” said Gibbs.
“I thought I was a sure thing! I even chucked a few hundred on a first goal/40+ disposal multi. I wonder if they have odds for the SANFL?”
