Popular Adelaide identity Claude Crow is expected to make his AFL debut this Friday night as the Crows try to rebound after their disastrous loss to Hawthorn.
Claude, known for his quick feet and ability to get the crowd going, is expected to step in to Tom Doedee’s vacant role as an intercept defender after the young star suffered a season ending ACL injury in Saturday’s loss.
Head Coach Don Pyke spoke to the media about Claude’s chances.
“He’s definitely in the mix. He brings that balance of physicality and finesse, and he’s been apart of our system for 29 years, so he knows the game plan and how the boys play.”
“For him, it’ll be about getting his opportunity and taking it. If he can, and Campo gives me the go ahead, then he has the potential to become the next David Mackay – by that I mean continue to get selected regardless of output.”
UPDATE:
Adelaide media identity Theo Doropolous has reported that Claude is currently being considered for elevation to co captain, as the Crows seek more leadership following Saturdays loss.
More to come.
